If reading a nonfiction book about PTSD sounds a bit much, Roxana Robinson has created a brilliant novel Sparta that takes her readers into the haunting of Conrad, a 26 year old man, upon returning after serving four years as a Marine, in Iraq. Robinson captures his experience so vividly some readers will forget that it is a work of fiction.
This should be required reading for anyone desiring an understanding of the traumas that lie in the hearts of so many returning soldiers.
